  • INNOVO® uses a hand-held controller attached to a comfortable pair of shorts. This sends targeted impulses (neuromuscular electrical stimulation) via eight integrated electrodes positioned around your upper thigh and buttocks, to safely and effectively activate all the muscles of the pelvic floor.

It is a proven technology which has been designed to optimally strengthen your pelvic floor with 180 perfect contractions per session. Regularly applying this cycle of contraction and relaxation will help to improve your pelvic floor muscle tone, strength, endurance and in turn your bladder control.

For ultimate results the full INNOVO® programme involves completing 30-minute sessions three to six times a week.

Results from a study prove that women who experience stress incontinence will experience significant improvements in as little as four weeks by using INNOVO® five days a week for 30 minutes. After 12 weeks of treatment the participants were defined as having ‘dry’ or ‘mild’ severity of symptoms.1

  • If you are one of the millions of women and men who suffer from some degree of urinary incontinence then INNOVO®may be able to help. Please consult your health care professional for further advice. Or if you want to effectively strengthen your pelvic floor muscles to prevent urinary incontinence then INNOVO® is for you. Just check our list of contraindications to ensure there will be no impact on a pre-existing condition.

  • There are three types of incontinence (see below) all of which can be treated with INNOVO®. If you are unsure which type of incontinence affects you, you can contact us or consult your health care professional. Remember, if you are uncertain whether any treatment would be suitable for you, always consult your health care professional first.

    Types of incontinence:

Stress Incontinence - when leaks accidentally occur from coughing, sneezing, laughing, jumping or doing heavy lifting. These simple movements put pressure on the bladder and, should your pelvic floor muscles be unable to tighten enough, will cause a leak. Stress incontinence is the most common type of female bladder weakness. It can happen at any age however is more common during pregnancy, after childbirth and during stages of menopause.2

Urge Incontinence - when there is a sudden and uncontrollable urge to urinate, often with little warning. Symptoms of Urge Incontinence include needing to urinate often even in the night. It is thought to be caused by an overactive detrusor muscle that sends incorrect signals to the brain telling it that it that the bladder is already full, even when it is not.

Mixed Incontinence - it is possible to suffer from both types of urinary incontinence at the same time. One type is usually more pronounced than the other, and it is advised to treat the more serious type of weakness first.

  • Men can also use INNOVO®. 1 in 10 men suffer the symptoms of bladder weakness at some time in their lives3, commonly associated with prostate enlargement and / or as a consequence of prostate surgery. We recommend that men experiencing urinary incontinence speak to their clinician about how INNOVO® can help.

  • Pelvic floor exercises, or Kegels, involve voluntary contraction of the pelvic floor muscles. For many people this can be difficult and sometimes are not done accurately. Doctors also recommend doing 300 Kegel contractions a day for 4-6 months4 for significant results which can be quite time consuming and hard to keep to. INNOVO® uses targeted impulses to accurately and effectively stimulate the pelvic floor muscles with 180 perfect contractions every session. With each session lasting 30 minutes it is easy to fit into your daily routine and you rest in the knowledge that INNOVO® is doing the hard work for you.

  • A strong pelvic floor can help to improve sexual function.5 INNOVO® can assist you to build and maintain a healthy pelvic floor through regular cycles of pelvic floor muscle contraction and relaxation.

  • INNOVO® treats the cause, not just the symptoms of urinary incontinence. While other solutions such as pads or absorbent underwear help to mask the problem, INNOVO®delivers effective and comfortable targeted impulses that help strengthen your pelvic floor. The key difference between INNOVO® and other pelvic floor stimulators is that INNOVO® is completely non-invasive. This means that you do not need to insert a probe or cone to deliver effective pelvic floor muscle contractions.

  • If you have a medical condition and are unsure if INNOVO® is suitable for you, you should speak to your health care professional before using INNOVO®. Download our clinician brochure leaflet for detailed product information.

  • As you increase the intensity on the controller you will start to feel your pelvic floor contracting. With an effective pelvic floor contraction, you will feel a sensation of “squeezing”, “tightening” and or “lifting up” between your legs. You should feel little or no activity on the front and sides of the legs. As you become familiar with the sensation you should increase the intensity level over time to reach the optimum level of for your sizing.

  • At first you will begin to feel a slight tapping sensation under the 2 electrodes positioned on your buttocks. Continue to increase the intensity until you feel a strong tapping, but only to a level you find comfortable.

  • With INNOVO® you control the intensity of the muscle stimulation. The stimulation should be strong enough to give you a good pelvic floor contraction but should never be uncomfortable or painful. If you experience discomfort during your treatment session, you should reduce the intensity of the stimulation to a more comfortable level.

As with any treatment programme, it will take time to experience results with Innovotherapy. We recommend that you continue to use INNOVO® for at least 12 weeks to give you the best possible outcome.

Uncomfortable stimulation may also occur if you have not applied enough conductive spray.  Spray each of the eight integrated electrodes 2-3 times to ensure an even coverage.

  • The previous version of INNOVO® used a hand-held controller attached to a two part garment to send targeted impulses (neuromuscular electrical stimulation) via eight conductive pads attached to your upper thigh and buttocks, to safely and effectively activate all the muscles of the pelvic floor.

With the new and improved INNOVO®, using patented, innovative technology, we have integrated those eight electrodes into a pair of comfortable compression shorts. The shorts are easy to pull on and remove, making it more convenient to use INNOVO® to restore your pelvic floor.

  • It is important that the electrodes are correctly positioned on your bottom. Check that the line of dots printed on the rear of the shorts sit just above the crease between your thigh and your bottom.

  • It is recommended to wear underwear that exposes the buttocks (such as a thong), or alternatively to use INNOVO® without underwear.

  • Yes, you can wear a pad or liner while using INNOVO®. Ensure that the pad or liner is not sitting between an electrode panel and the skin prior to commencing your therapy session.

We also advise that you use the toilet before starting a treatment session.

  • Clinical research has indicated that INNOVO® users may start to notice an improvement after just 4 weeks of treatment.1
For best results, we recommend that you use INNOVO® for at least 12 weeks.
